The Lodge offers a restaurant with bar, and 7 lodge rooms. Rooms are large and equipped with refrigerators, microwaves and a spacious seating area. Décor is rustic western in both the main restaurant building and rooms. Outdoor seating with a pond is available during the summer and fall months. Restaurant/bar facility is prime for entertaining special events, company parties and music. Menu is cowboy comfort food, from burgers to steaks and a big slice of huckleberry cheesecake for dessert! The atmosphere is that of a rustic inn in the style of a typical bed and breakfast. Continental breakfast is served daily for guests at a nominal charge.
The Little Moose Lodge is the sister lodge to the Bull Moose Lodge & Saloon in Alpine, Wyoming (www.bullmooselodge.com). We are right on the border of Wyoming, and Alpine is 25 miles from the Little Moose Lodge, around the 18 mile long reservoir. Alpine offers gas stations, grocery store, medical facilities, library, fishing and hunting supplies, RV rentals, and more!
Little Moose Lodge, 5 miles below the Palisades Dam, rests in the middle of the area now known as “Greater Swan Valley” which includes the communities between Alpine (at the Eastern end of Palisades Reservoir), Palisades, Irwin, the West Bank, Pine Creek, Swan Valley Proper, and Conant Valleys. The surrounding mountains are known as the Big Hole Range, also called the Snake River Range. Mount Baldy/Mount Irwin stands at 9,835 ft above the valley floor, flanked to the north by Atkinson Peak at 9,366, and Thompson Peak at 9,481. To the southeast of the valley are Palisades Peak (9,778) and Little Palisades Peak (9,707). Mount Baird (10,025)at the head of Little Elk Canyon, can be seen from the highway on a drive around the reservoir. And, Swan Valley is fed by creeks too numerous to name!
